A Reasoned Approach to End Times and the Bible
Mark Twain: "It's not the things I dont' understand about the Bible that bother me, it's the things I DO understand."
I listened not so long ago, to Dr. Irwin Lutzer, former head pastor of Moody Bible Church, whom I have met and respect intensely. He speculated that, the way things were going, that he would probably die in his bed, his successor in jail, and the person who followed the successor, by execution. Perhaps he is right… particularly as we see the increasing “good German” (reference to WWII Germans, including Christians, who sat idly by, either uninformed and/or uninvolved, as Hitler rose to power) attitude in some churches. “Personal peace and prosperity” Francis Schaeffer called it; or, by extension, a bit like what Churchill said to Neville Chamberlain, after his cowardice: “You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war.” Similarly, we have a choice between a non-violent, spiritual war with the forces of evil, or the dishonour of spiritual and moral cowardice. Or was one woman told me, when I presented evidence of aborted fetal material in the Covid shots, as well as the dangers, she just retorted “I know. But I got the shot ‘cuz I just want to go to Cancun next month.” That, dear reader, encapsulates exactly how and why we are losing this great war for freedom.
There is, as you, gentle reader know, a lot of speculation regarding the end times, and the return of Christ. As someone with a graduate degree in theology from Regent College, Vancouver, BC, and who has read much of the New Testament, including Revelation, in the original Greek, I, like many others, have some comment to make.
As you read, note that much of the book of Revelation - or, apokalypsis, ἀποκάλυψις, meaning 'unveiling' or 'revelation' - was written to encourage believers to persevere during difficult times. Not dissimilar to the same difficult times we are going through today. But…. we mustn’t get lost in the trees while not seeing the forest. Much of Revelation is, as Twain writes, quite clear: E.g., think Revelation 2:4, from Christ Himself: But I have against you that you have abandoned your first love. Is that you? Better, is that me? As Luther said, I preach to myself here, and there is nothing unclear at all about what was written in this case.
But before we start slicing and dicing the prophesies, let’s remember the basics. As Chuck Colson once said, it may be that the Lord is coming back in our lifetimes. If so, μαράναθά (marantha, or return soon, Lord!). But we are limited in knowledge, and it could be that we “just” go into a new Dark Age. If so, will we, like the Irish monks a thousand years ago as a similar evil time descended (see Thomas Cahill’s How the Irish Saved Civilization) be found as salt and light for those to follow?
Regarding the end times, the preterists believe that the eschatalogical predictions of Christ were fulfilled in 70 AD. As noted, I have a graduate degree in theology from Regent College (another in linguistics) in Vancouver, BC, and have read a lot of the NT in the original Greek, including Revelation. I studied under luminaries like Jim Packer, arguably the premier theologian of the past century (who just died not too long ago), along with folks like Bruce Waltke, who helped translate the NIV, emininent Christian historian Ian Rennie (where I had to read the totality of Williston Walker’s History of the Christian Church; the other major work on this is Christian History by Ken Latourette, also good reading) etc. Interestingly, Packer was kicked out of the church (that I also formerly attended) St. Johns Shaunessy Anglican, for daring to question the LGBT Nazis.
The answer to what and how the end times before Christ’s return will be is more than I want to write about here, and there are good people on all sides of the debate. But in short, I am a partial preterist, where I think some of the predictions were fulfilled in 70 AD, and some still to be. Simply, the prophets were looking at the future like we look at mountains from a distance, and where at distance, as anyone who has seen the mountains knows, the foothills (70AD) and the main range (the still coming events) all look merged into one. The late theologian RC Sproul was a preterist, and he is one of the most brilliant theologians out there. You want to delve deep into the subject? Read or listen to him. Another is Norman Geisler, or Wayne Grudem. These resources strongly recommended as you sort through the end times predictions.
Interestingly, the Book of Daniel said the prophesies would not be clear until the time of their arrival. It appears we are there now. Or as Billy Graham said, we should read the newspapers with one hand, and have the Bible in the other as we do so. Liberal theologians, aka heretics, hate the book of Daniel, trying to late date it, as it is (literally) damning to their presuppositions. But their objections fall flat. One example of fulfilled prophesy is the somewhat arcane book of Ezekiel (Dr. Daniel Block of Wheaton College, under whom I have sat on his year-long exposition of Ezekiel, has a very helpful work on this somewhat opaque book here). But chapter 26 of Ezekiel told us, (as explained here in BeliefMap), that in “April of 587 B.C. Ezekiel's prophecy foretold the demise of what is widely considered to be the greatest sea empire in ancient history. (Here is the full Biblical prophecy in Ezekiel 26.) Tyre was the Phoenician equivalent of New York City and, at the time Ezekiel prophesied her doom, the city ‘had reached the summit of its greatness as mistress of the sea and the centre of the commerce of the world.’ Further like New York, which exists as five boroughs (Brooklyn, Staten Island, etc.), “Tyre consisted of two distinct parts, a rocky fortress on the mainland, called ‘Ushu’ or ‘Old Tyre,’ and the city proper, built on a small, rocky island about half a mile distant from the shore.” One could say she figuratively consisted of both a head and a body.
But here’s the kicker. Ezekiel tells us that fishermen would dry their nets on the rubble of the destroyed city. Alexander the Great, when he defeated the mainland part of Tyre, then tore down the whole of it, cast it into the sea - even the dust that Ezekiel writes about - and built a causeway to Tyre, then destroyed it. And when late pastor D James Kennedy visited it, he said he saw - exactly at Ezekiel wrote about thousands of years ago, fishermen drying their nets on the rocks. Yes, the prophesy was literally fulfilled, even down to the dust.
The fact is, relative to where we are now, that God will not allow man to take what is his prerogative. Exhibit A: MIT AI Lab's Tom Knight said, "the genetic code is 3.6 billion years old. It's time for a rewrite.” Really? Pushing back, even the Journal of Biological Engineering wrote: Nobel Laureate and physicist Richard P. Feynman once wrote, "What I cannot create, I do not understand." In the field of biology, this quote is very apropos. Bioengineering, for all of its accomplishments, still has yet to create life to fit the same sort of precise specifications that chemical engineers have done with molecules and that mechanical engineers have with machines. Life is too unpredictable and poorly understood to reach its full engineering potential. The newly introduced field of synthetic biology (synbio) represents a response to that problem. Synbio is epitomized by the BioBricks project, which attempts to create life from scratch with clearly defined and understood interactions between each engineered gene…Many of the public's fears are reflected in The Guardian columnist Madeleine Bunting's assertion that "[s]cientists have a new way to reshape nature, but none can predict the cost." Bunting writes that synbio "is a frightening science," that it "has the potential to be highly accessible ... making the task of regulating its use extremely difficult," and synthetic organisms can "get out and cross with their wild cousins, mutating into organisms we had never foreseen." She expresses concern over the "massive and momentous consequences," comparing synbio to the Industrial Revolution. Professional scientists' concerns are more limited to feasibility, suggesting that it is unlikely humans can design a better biological machine than nature can.
But as Ex. B, Karen Kingston also wrote in her Nov., 2023 article, By Hacking Organisms, Elites May Gain the Power to Re-Engineer the Future of Life Itself how with Synthetic Biology, they are trying to turn natural biological life forms into new technologies. They claim they are “harnessing biology to be more productive and useful; but of course, writes Kingston they are in fact hijacking biology with technology. And as most of you know, the vile Yuval Noah Harari, advisor to Klaus Schwab, has pushed for years to merge humans with the biodigital realm in order to fully control humans and eliminate free will. As noted, God’s sovereignty will never be overwritten; just a mouse will never control a mission to the moon.
And as a side note, Sir Frederick Hoyle, no Bible-thumper himself, said that expecting that nature assembled what we see today by chance+time is like thinking a tornado blew through town and assembled a Boeing 747. (They try other suggestions, like panspermia and multiverses, but those don’t really work either).
But really Mr. Watson? You are going to re-write the whole genetic code? God is not going to allow man to change some of the most delicate parts of His creation! And mess with his little children (as they already have with the Covid gene therapy shot, which the Lund Univ., Sweden study shows, does reverse transcribe into our DNA? In Matthew 18, Christ warns “but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” Messing with God’s creation is, as musician Jim Croce wrote, like spitting into the wind, or pulling on Superman’s cape. Of, if you like, recall this decades old ad for Chiffon margarine, It’s Not Nice to Fool Mother Nature.
In fact, Technocracy News reported the same week as this article, on how the Deep State is planning to use the God-created DNA, that is unique to each individual, to help push their satanic Deep State agenda. See Your DNA: The Ultimate Global ID Is Here! And while at it, subscribe to Patrick Woods’ Technocracy News, to keep up-to-date on all the evil being perpetrated.
Mr. Watson and his technocratic cabal will end up like it always does - assuming Christ doesn't come back before then - just like it did with the Titanic ("even God Himself couldn't sink her"), or the state of the art technology of the Ocean Ranger in 1984, lost with all hands.
Swiss/American theologian Francis Schaeffer once wrote that we used to have two constraints: What we can do, and what we should do. The former constraint is now gone, in our hubris. Similarly, bioethicist Leon Kass wrote about the “wisdom of repugnance,” where there is wisdom – divinely given, in my estimation – about many of the Frankenstinian experiments being done today. Gee… can you say “Wuhan lab leak,” which the authorities also lied about, of course. And now we see People line up for skull surgery to get Elon Musk's brain chip (see also here). Gee, what could possibly go wrong?
Man’s brilliance? Do you mean the recent Einsteins who were lost in the Titan submersible? This arrogance goes all the way back to the Tower of Babel and Pharoah, who would not let Moses go, and up to today's arrogant pharoah, Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab and their 1984 Orwellian technocratic dystopia. People simply don’t learn from history - or as Woody Allen (who himself never learned) once quipped, “Of course history repeats. That’s because no one was listening the first time.”
Much of the end, I believe, will be brought about via the merger of fascism and Marxism, which I write about in Introducing Fasco-Marxism and Fascism & Marxism: Brothers from Another Mother.
Fascism, and National Socialism, or Nazis, is simply the merger of the socialist state with co-opted, crony big business. It differs from communism in that the former uses big biz to control the levers of production, the latter has the state directly controlling the means of production. There is also the difference of nationalism vs. internationalism. There are differences, but both, as Mussolini wrote in his 1932 The Doctrine of Fascism, believe “Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.” Can you see how this might well be co-opted by the AntiChrist?
Of course, Klaus Schwab's - who’s technocractic world view is literally fascism, had his Swiss father, Eugen Schwab, as managing director of Escher-Wyss & Cie. (Co.) in Ravensburg, and formed the Ravensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry as vice-president, which who worked for Hitler's war machine, Klaus had all of his schooling bankrolled by Escher-Wyss financiers in Zurich. The acorn didn’t fall far from this tree!
Or think Justin Trudeau. My wife's cousin was his nanny. And his vile deputy PM, Chrystia Freeland, indeed had a Nazi grandfather. I can't blame her for her grandfather being a Nazi, but I certainly DO blame her for being an even worse Nazi than grand dad was. And I am using the definition of Nazi (National Socialist German Workers' Party) as defined above, which anyone can read. That fascist merger of socialist government and big biz back then was IG Farben (known as Bayer), Krupp, etc... whereas today it is Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc. Same diff. And paired with this fascism we now see the end of Fourth Estate, where the media was supposed to be a check on unbridled power, but is actually now part of that power gone amuck. CNN, are you listening?
And regarding the Canadian experiment, where Canada is just a few paces ahead down the road to perdition - see What Happens in Canada (and California) Spreads Outward - is the article A Nazi Skeleton in the Family Closet” by journalist Arina Tsukanova, where Freeland was asked about her Nazi background by the Canadian. Freeland chose not to tell the truth but rather portrayed the article as part of a Russian propaganda and disinformation campaign. Freeland told reporters, “American officials have publicly said, and even [German Chancellor] Angela Merkel has publicly said, that there were efforts on the Russian side to destabilize Western democracies, and I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise if these same efforts were used against Canada. … I think that Canadians and indeed other Western countries should be prepared for similar efforts to be directed at them.” Her office denied that her grandfather was a Nazi collaborator. All that, until it came out officially, via the leftist Canadian newspaper of record, that Freeland's grandfather was indeed four levels down from directly reporting to Hitler.
But it does appear that the framework whereby the end times might well be ushered in, namely a merger of Marxism, fascism, wokeism, medical/financial tyranny, and technocracy, as Patrick Wood outlines in his TechnocracyNews, here, is in place.
Our goal, as the book of Revelation has as its main point, is to remain faithful during these times, both to God, and to His Creation. Regading the latter, think Bill Gates, in his Lord of the Rings-like Saruman hatred of trees, where Gates now wants to chop down 70 million acres of forest to stop faux global warming.
In sum, as we work through the end times, the key point is not some timeline to follow; rather, it is a call to faithfulness. But there will be discussion of the timeline; I myself am interested in this, and have some thought. But recall: In necessariis unitas, in dubiis libertas, in omnibus caritas (unity in necessary things; freedom in doubtful things; love in all things" or more literally as "in necessary things unity; in uncertain things liberty; in all things charity")
I, like you and many others am also interested in the end times. The Jews, despite all of the signs, completely missed the Messiah being Jesus. I'm interested in the end times, not so much to nail down a specific time as too not be misled by a false prophet.
Naziism being "...simply the merger of the socialist state with co-opted, crony big business" is now the opposite with big business/oligarch's running a co-opted state.
The best book I have read on the end times is "Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before, During and After Antichrist" by Desmond A Birch. It's out of print and hard to find. I had to pay $100 for a copy I found on ebay but is was worth it.
The quote "die in his bed, his successor in jail, and the person who followed the successor, by execution." is originally attributed to Cardinal Francis George.
